What is your research question?
To what extent is hand rendered type still relevant in todays design society?
Do you have a hypothesis - an assured conclusion that you will endeavour to prove?
Hand rendered type is a fantastic art and something to praise. Designers should work by hand before jumping straight onto a Mac. The question is whether or not all digital logos work in a hand rendered style or method.
Sources of primary/secondary research?
Photos of work - secondary and primary
Practising letterforms
How will your practical work relate to your written work?
The practical work will hopefully be an answer to the question directly. If I created a sign painting, or a hand rendered piece would it work for an ultra digital company?
Would a piece of design like that suit a company like Apple or something similar.
What methods will you use to research, develop, create and test your work?
Practise with many tools - calligraphy pens, big markers etc
Crits and talking to people, especially if they are also involved in hand rendered lettering
Provide a proposed timeline for your work to completion (consider carefully whether you will need to access to college facilities)
I won't really need many college facilities, I don't think. I will need time for research, deciding an idea and research further, developing the idea and finishing.
